Our International Trade team specializes in helping defense and security contractors operate overseas and in advising domestic and foreign entities on the laws and regulations that govern foreign investments with national security implications.
Position Description
As an Associate in our International Trade Practice, you will advise clients on compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, the U.S. sanctions regime, the regulations administered by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual, and other laws and regulations relating to international commerce.
You can expect to have direct interaction with clients at the outset and responsibility for managing your own matters independently. To the extent you have an interest in also supporting our other practice groups, you can certainly do so.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of international trade experience in the public or private sector, including experience with the ITAR and the EAR.
- Capable of working in a fast-paced, collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.
- Eligible for VA Bar (admission or waiver).
